For trecking or biking, get off from Cusco very early in the morning, crossing different little towns as Ocongate, near Ausangate the highest mountain in the Peruvian south (4,950 msnm). Here is where the traveler starts going down, observing glaciars, lakes, great mountains with amazing falling waters, meeting llamas and alpacas. Now you go into the town Marcapata.
Coming from Cusco to Quincemil (1000 msnm over sea level) it is impressive to see the progressive change from highland to forest jungle (Sierra to Selva) Rainforest.
The vegetation gets more tropically exuberant, as same as the climate.
